adjust driver's door; it's hitting the fender
Hi all:
Is there any way to adjust the driver's door; my car was hit in the front fender and now when openning the door it's hitting/rubbing the fender; I can still open it by forcing it.
It seems that the two screws in the door don't do anything related to adjusting the door.
Please advise.
Thanks. Neko

post pics! i got into an accident that messed up my driver side and i had something similiar happen. i had to take off my fender and bump out the dent so it wouldn't rub against my door when i opened it.
I'd say adjust the fender, not the door. You don't want to move the door and potentially mess up the way it seals causing wind noise and water leaks. Fender is much easier to move as it is designed to do so.
Thanks for the reply. I liked the explanation: adjust the fender not the door because of potential leaks. Anyway, please give me more details; any downsides?
I am not near the car right now. Thanks. N

Has the car been in an accident? Is that why the door hits the fender?
If the fender's not messed up, you should be able to loosen the bolts that hold it in place to make minor adjustments. I honestly don't know where all the bolts are that hold it on. You'll have to look around and likely need to remove the fender well insert. As for downsides, it may cause gaps and other pieces (front corner, headlight, sideskirt, hood) to not fit correctly. It's definitely a give and take situation. You're going to have to identify the lesser of the evils and commit to it...

I just had the same problem. What I did was remove my fender, straighten it out for the most part, and re-install it as far forward as it would go. Most body parts are made to be adjustable to a certain degree. Now it works fine. I still need to put a new fender on, but it won't hit the door when I open it.
I actually have to fix my door panel now because I did not fix the fender soon enough. What happened was I kept opening the door, and it kept scraping, and eventually push the door panel in a little.
To remove the fender, you have to remove the grill, bumper, and side skirt. You have to detatch the fender lining from the fender, but not remove it completely. You may have to loosen the headlight. Look for a DIY on removing the fender--Try Honda Tech.
BTW, the side skirt is removed (at least on the EK/EJ) by removing the 3 plastic screws on the bottom side, any by the front mudguard (or where it would go) and pushing it forward (toward the front of the car).
