Whats up honda crew..
My girlfriend recently bought a 98 civic ex and she has the keyless entry. When she locks the doors the horn doesn't honk or the lights dont flash. Is this normal? I would think that the horn should honk, but it doesn't. Does the horn honk when you guys lock your doors? On my VW you can plug the car into a computer at the dealer and turn that option on or off.... is this the case with the civic?

Sorry, but my friend's '98 Civic EX does the same thing. My 2000 Civic honks and flashes though, so I think Honda fixed the complaints from the earlier model years.

 

well my stock keyless entry definately has some switches under the dash to set the honk... but no the flash... check the manual for the keyless entry.. if there is one

 

Get a aftermarket one.

 

Well i called the dealer and he told me to hold down the option button and the lock button on the remote and it would make the horn honk when it locks or unlocks. :naughty:
