They are both good tires...it depends on what you mean by good. Traction, wet weather...performance?

My bet is that the Yokohama AVS's will be more fun but wont last as long as the Kuhmo's. Im guessing the Kuhmo's have a higher treadwear rating. Mine are rated at 300. They are both decent in dry and wet traction.

I've only had experience with the Yokohama AVS Int. ...they stick like glue but wear out faster than my car They also sucked in wet weather traction. Basically performs the same as the Falken Azenis. Excellent on dry roads...crap on wet/snowy roads. I havent really done research about the ES100's.

My Yokohama's treadwear sucked! Well, that and the sidewalls on my Avid's were weak... I used to think Kumho's are cheap, but they are actually a pretty good tire for their money... comparable to Michelin's

Tread wear ratings are subjective. Each company makes their own ratings.

Grassroots Motorsports did a tire test in this month's issue. Pick it up (has blue WRX on the cover). They covered the Azenis, KDs, 712s, ES100, Hankook, Ventus, and several other tires.
