actually, your wrong. As a general rule of thumb, you can't take a b-series head & just plop it on a d-series block. But, there have been some cases of dual over head cam heads placed on a d-series block & it works. You just have to have the right configuration. I've actually seen pictures of this before.

from what i remember, it was a zc head on a d-series block. Eric would remember more about it than i would because he was looking into doin it at one point.

there is one D serese that a b16 head will go on and that d series is the d16a8.. its basicly the b18b but its a 1.6 litre DOHC non vtec engine but all other SOHC d seres engines they will not go on at all.... .. number one.. the head bolts dont like up.. 2 the oil and coolent jackets dont lineup... 3 the b series head is wider and fatter than the D series head, 4 they dont make a timing belt to go from the smaller main pully to a dohc head... so there basicly 2 dif engines.. the storys of the b16 or 18 head getting dropped on a d16y7 or y8 or ne SOHC D series motor is from the mysterious d16a8 thats where the confusion may come in.
