Default lifters?

I had a question my car is making a lil tic noise nothing real loud and i dont notice a loss of power. I was told that it could be a lifter or valves. Im def due for a valve adjustment but i wouldnt think that it wouldnt make that noise if they were loose. Are lifters hard to replace? By the way its a 98 honda civic ex.

Yeah, if you hear clicking from the valvetrain then you need an adjustment.
