Default fuel issues ?

so i ahve a 93 civic hatch which should have a 12 gallon tank. Yet when i push the car till it starts to spurter and die it only fills up 8-9 gallons which is 3-4 short of the full tank. Then my engine is throwing code 43 which is fuel delivry system im assuming this would be a fuel pump issue but anyone want to confirm so i don't buy the wrong aprt

I'm pretty sure the lower model EG hatchbacks came with a 9 gallon tank, the CX at least.

Don't run the car out of gas, it's bad for the fuel pump.

You did not mention in your first post that you have an Si, so I included that bit.

If you have a 12 gallon tank, it shouldn't start to choke out of fuel until you are 10.5-11 gallons down.
