what's the problem if a motor is running lean?

an what is the problem if the motor runs rich?? if there a site that explains all the problems of a motor an how it happens??

 

MAP or MAF sensor

 

rich = too much fuel
lean = not enough fuel

 

If your CEL is on, your car is running safety mode and will run rich. Basically, your ecu will dump fuel into the car to keep it running but having done this, will not allow the engine to reach peak performance...

 

also if your o2 sensor is bad your call will run rich so check that also

 

i guess i should of been more specific... i know when a car in running lean means not enough gar an rich means too much... if the motor is runnin lean it could be the fuel pump or fuel filter or the sensor.. which sensor is it besides the o2??

an if the motor is running rich why?? besides o2??

 

ah shit man I dunno, it could be your Fuel pressure regulator, Is your car throwing a CEL?

 

check engine light is on...

 

go to autozone and get them to read the code
