Default idea?

hey guys semi new here but, I have a 93 civic ex coupe and Where I live is in SC there are no honda heads here so Asking for help/advice from the domestic iron is outta the question. So What Im looking to hopefully do is just get the car ready to run with most of the stock 5.0 mustangs and z28's. They are pretty much the only "sports" cars around here and Im tired of the shit.. I was thinking about 250 HP Should get me to the point of spanking most stock Muscle, I want RELIABLE 250 hp think I should stick with the d 16z I can realistically spend around 300 a month on parts to get it to that point but I want to know your thoughts?
When It comes to engines I have a very good grasp of 4 cylinder engines I came from the Pushrod v-8 family so please be gentle!!

If you already have a D16z6 then build and boost would get you there. If your going to put another motor in it then you might as well swap in a B18 or something then boost. This question has been asked many times so do some searching for swaps and turbo. And check the rescources thread.

homemadeturbo.com, youll find 10 million different ways to get 250hp out of your z6 easily and on a budget. You can also look at turbod16.com and believe it or not, the forced induction section of honda-tech does have some good information. Do ALOT of research and youll save ALOT of money when you do the install.
