Default SRS problem on a 2000 Acura EL

The SRS light came on over the weekend. I took it today to an Acura service department and they hooked it up to the computer. Result was a Code 01-2. Increased resisitance in driver side airbag inflator. Code cleared when it was reset. But as soon as I got into the car it came back on again. I was told that they would now have to check through flow chart (DTC 1-1 & DTC 1-2) and that it could be the cable reel or the air bag itself.

The whole thing is a 21 step procedure and they didn't know how long it will take.

Any advice would be greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

I would say the cable reel, and its also going to be the cheapest thing to try..

check the plug first if snug check the horn & cruise control if both works fine. then might be the airbag but if they dont work replace the clockspring (cable real) but try the manual reset.

when you reset it, does it come back on randomly or when you are turing the wheel?
