Default remove dash trim 97 civic

Anyone have any tips on removing the dash trim around the stereo & climate control on a 97 civic ex cpe? I can get all the screws and stuff but the cable to the temperture switch is tricky. Its the black cable behind the climate control that slides when you change the temp. Kind of stuck at this point, any help would be awsome!!! My car was destroyed by a theif and must replace the trim so i can get a new radio, no tunes suck!

I did it on my 95 gsr for jdm purpose and the temp switch never worked the same.

I tried myself removing it, but was unsucessful.

I then went to Autozone and bought the Haynes manual for like $12 bucks and they detailed the information well..

i attached the page from the Haynes Manual, see if u can download it.

The pages is hard to read, the file was stripped of the colors since the board only supports files up to 490K.

Hope it helps!

Default trim removal to replace

i have the same book. I got the trim loose but the cable that connects the temp switch (slider style) on the climate control box to what ever it goes to doesn't have enough slack. It looks like a radio antanna cable. When i did the same job on my old integra, i couldnt get the cable back in place the correct way so the slider would get caught up and sometimes not work right.
Thanks for the effort though, appriciate it.
