vibration/sound coming from shifter?
Hey guys, I noticed that my shifter seems to be either rubbing against something and making a little rattle type sound, or maybe there is a bushing gone bad that's allowing metal to touch metal? I'm not sure, but it seems to bounce up and down a little (nothing visable to the naked eye) and make a little bit of noise. You can definetly feel the vibration from whatever it's bumping with your hand, and it feels like 2 pieces of metal vibrating against each other in tune with the rpms. Doesn't matter if I'm in nuetral or any other gear. I really don't think its coming from within the tranny. Feels like its originating from directly below the shifter.
Are there some bushings I might want to replace that hold up the shift linkage, or hold the tranny, or shifter? What could it be?
edit: its a 98 ex, and the shifter is not stock, but I'm not sure what kind it is. Either its not stock, or someone mentioned something about you could turn the shifter around backwards and it would make it a short shifter? I have no idea...I've never heard that before then, this was just some info told to me when I was first looking for civics. At any rate, this shifter has a very short throw and does not feel stock at all.
