potential buy
im looking at a civic right now, want to get an idea of what others would pay for it...
its a 92 si hb 200k on chassis
100k on engine
engine is a b18c1, jdm itr tranny w/ lsd 4.785
jackson racing supercharger
s200 fully tuned for boost
rc 440 injectors
walbro fuel pump
dc header
aem intake
stock exhaust
s2000 red paint
integra cloth seats
15 inch rota slipstreams on bf goodrich
couple things int backlights dont work seems ez to fix
exterior is like 98% good paint looks awesome
lowered on cut springs
hes looking to get 6000, i think thats a little steep, however i drove it and its insanely fast... just trying to get some opinions, swap looks pretty cleanly done overall condition is good to excellent

6k does seem pretty steep unless its in near perfect condition. The only thing I worry about is that it has 100k+ miles on a motor that has no doubt been stressed most of its life. Dijuh run a compression check?
other obvious problems:
cut springs=terrible ride & handling... suspension must be addressed asap. So figure on spending at least another $500-1000 depending on what route you want to take to fix the suspension.
Also a 200k chassis with such obvious lack of attention to the suspension will likely need new bushings throughout. This is a labor-intensive job whether replacing with stock or aftermarket bushings.
Stock exhaust isn't doing that car any good, so figure another few hundred to open up the exhaust.
Summary, sounds like a cool car, but with all the money you'll need to put into it after you buy it, $6k is pretty damn pricey.

yeah its definitely not perfect, but its good enough by my standards. the coilovers i have on my car now will be going on the car, cut springs will be in the garbabe, bushings could be fun to install, never done it before but i will take your advice and replace them. i guess polyurethane is the route to go here for bushings? i also have greddy evo2 full catback which will go on the car.
as far as the comp test, i plan on bringing down the gauge when i go to pick it up. i expect really good results, because the engine accelerated really really smoothly especially with its age, and (from what i know) the supercharger installed in there (jackson racing) is supposed to have really low on the engine (in comparison with turbo)
so in sum, lets assume its at least up to spec compression, requires no maintainance, and no cost out of pocket on replacing parts.
thanks for the advice.

that sounds like a fast civic. GSR engine, headers, intake...BOOST. i would talk him down to 5k. even though the chassis has 200k miles on it it s got a new engine and an ass load of parts obviously. i just say talk him down to 5k and buy it.
he only posted one pic it was like 100x100 cant really see much, but the paint is pretty new.. still glossy.. its got one ding on the driver side door, didnt break the top layer though so that can probably get fixed for like 100-150... not worried about that too much. interior is pretty clean... love the integra seats too..
i think he was really worried about getting it jacked... he wanted it to look as stock as possible... not going to be that way once i get my hands on it
