Default My next mod......what should it be?

Well, I have been workin on my new EG car. I sold my CRX that I had worked on for over a year. Now it's time for soemthing new. SO far all I did on it was put a type-r valve cover on, CTR N1 Pulley, ACT Clutch, ACT Prolite flywheel. I have a JG Edelbrock Intake Manifold coming to me this week, I am also installing it with a Hondata IM gasket. Now I can't decide waht I should do next. I was thinking I should do a TB, but I don't know what kind to get. I am not looking at spending a butt load of money on a TB either. They have AEBS one's on Hondamarketplace for liek 180 shipped. That's reasonable. But what size should I get? I want it to be matched to whatever size the IM is, but what size is the IM? 68mm?

If you're dead set on a TB, send your stocker to http://www.maxbore.com/

He's been boring TBs for years and does excellent work. He can also port match the IM. Aftermarket TBs can be finicky.

Truly, without a set of BIG cams and other supporting mods, a larger TB isn't going to get you anything but a lighter wallet.

CTR cams are in no way big enough to warrant a large TB. The IM you're getting is border line too big as well. Boring the stock TB won't hurt, but it won't help either.

The best thing you could do would be to save your money for a quality header and some form of engine management. Only when you reach the point of not having enough air flow, should you consider things such as larger TBs, big IMs, etc.

Well, I plan on doing a turbo setup on the car, The only reason I want a Port Match TB for the IM is so that when I go turbo I will have all the little things that will complement my turbo setup. The reason I got the edelelbrock IM is because I checked all reviews about IM's and asked opinions, and all I came back with was Edelbrock. Obviously I would rather have Full-Race, but it is too expensive. So the next best thing is edelbrock. I don't want to buy a header for my car, becasue I am going to have to sell it when I go turbo. Also I have a Apexi VAFC 2, I jsut haven't had a chance to go install it and go get it tuned.

If ur gonna to turbo the car, get rid of the crank pulley for a fluid damper, and get a stock flywheel, I was talking with someguys when David was dyno'n his del sol, and they siad that the CTR pulley will blow out the oil pump and take out the bearings.

If you're going to post questions asking about parts to consider, at least share what the ultimate end goal is so people can actually help. Exhaust work will be essential for good turbo performance.

Im not really a forced induction guy...but I was thinking if CTR cams would be kinda too agressive for forced induction? :dunno:
