Default D-series Dizzy question

obd1- non-vtec motor

do i have to run a non-vtec dizzy or can i run the vtec dizzy for posibility of future head swap on the g/f's car! ... or is there even a difference in the dizzy's?

there is a difference in the dizzys, if u have a non vtec head u need a non vtec dizzy, and vice versa. The bolt patterns are differents

I know B's have different patterns thanks to the VTEC solenoid, are D's the same way?

i was aware of a lil trick with the b-series ones.. but was clueless as to the the d's

What, the "cut the leg off" trick?

I've seen way too many D-series distributors to not remember, but the only ones really care about were made before VTEC existed in D-series. Remembering interchanges is a son'fa'bish. h:

well... they better be different... cause i bought an vtec dizzy for my mini me swap.

and also i gues there's obd 1 and obd 2 differences as well?

dizzy is short for distributor
