Default feedback on build

so im about to get out of the army and have decided to forego the new Civic SI and build an old civic again. 4 years ago I had a '97 civic w/ turbo d16. Going back to the same car, but doing a better engine this time since i have a crapload more money.

1996 Civic 2 door

the goal is 300hp turbo setup. I've got $10k to spend (hopefully less)

I was thinking of going w/ this setup: let me get some feedback. i've been out of the tuner loop for a while now seeing as to how i haven't had a car in 4yrs. damn army.

USDM B18 GSR

Stock Crank- Machine work, balance, polish.

Rods- Eagle's are good, Crowers better.

Pistons- 82mm JE 9:1 forged.

Block- resleeve with Golden Eagle sleeves and block guard.

Head- Skunk 2 valve train. Stock cams, but with adj. gears. Port it, port match the manifold, three angle valve job, polish the combustion chambers. Go with a skunk 2 or ITR intake manifold, better flow.

Turbo- T4, with stage 3 wheel, with a 50 trim and 63AR hot side. good kits anybody?

Fuel- Vortech fully adj. fuel system, Get an S-AFC to tune that. An MSD ignition with the boost retard. AEM stand alone. For injectors go with 550 cc.

did i leave anything out? does anybody know where i can buy the B18 already built for boost? or do i just need to get the engine and have the work done myself?

what you have listed is capable of ALOT more then 300 on the GSR, but if thats all your after youll get there easily. Youll need fuel, and REAL fuel managment, look into hondata, crome, or uberdata

That's what I was thinking almost exactly. I'm sure there are people here who will be able to help you alot. People far more capable than I.

you wont need the block guard with golden eagle sleeves. and you wont need the safc or boost retard with an aem.

i believe www.importbuilders.com has a turbo prepped block for sale.

ya, but im going to try and stick as close to the budget as possible. the price of the engine is coming out of that $10k as well.

anybody know any websites that sell pre-built engines?

I'd go with JG intake over Skunk2/ITR.
I'd also go with ITR cams, too. GSR are great, but with gears you can get a lot of out ITR cams - don't believe the ITR cam / N/A rumors.
AEM fuel management is great, but it requires a good AEM tuner because of the advanced tuning capabilities. You won't need the Vortech or the retard with the AEM (as already mentioned). You're going to spend twice the price on the AEM as you would on Hondata. Any particular reason why you chose AEM? I think it's overkill for your build list/desires. You could save $600 on that and spend that on tuning or other parts. Things to consider.

Oh, and what about FMIC? Exhaust manifold? Injectors? Fuel pump? BOV? WG?

you could produce 500hp with less stuff than that!

best build for best price & great power

Block thats worthy of 400-500hp
b18a block - stock sleeves
eagle rods = 300 shipped
wiseco pistons = 400 shipped

pick a head, any head, they all flow well, if u wanna spend the money get a vtec head & what not.

nice size turbo & some fuel to compensate for all the air your adding

TUNING is what will make your car fast AND reliable! (Crome FTW!!!11!!1!)
