It all started so innocently
So I went to change the oil in my civic tonight and found out the oil pan has a hole rusted in it. 
wned: CRAP!! I guess you can expect that after being in 10 Wisconsin winters. So, off to Majestic Honda to buy a new one...
Oil pan - $62.28
Oil pan gasket - $22.32
So, me in my infinite wisdom decide that now would be a good time to figure out my weird idle problem since I can't drive it until my new oil pan shows up. For about the last year, the car would idle very erratically when it is cold or warm. For example, when the car was warm, it would idle around 1200-1500 RPM. Let me tell you, it does not like going into reverse at that speed. If I shut the car off, and restart it, the idle goes back to normal. So I pulled off the intake manifold to fully clean the intake, throttle body, and IAC. I pulled the IAC apart and found out the valve shaft inside is very sticky and I can't get it cleaned/freed. Almost like the little bearing is failing inside the IAC valve not allowing the shaft to spin freely. Once again, off to Majestic Honda to buy more parts...
Intake manifold gasket - $4.79
Throttle body gasket - $0.41
Map sensor o-ring(old one looks brittle and cracked) - $1.56
PCV Valve(might as well replace it while I'm in there since it's easy to do with the manifold removed) - $12.16
Oil pressure switch(might as well replace it while I'm in there since it's easy to do with the manifold removed) - $5.81
IAC Valve - $138.94
After going through my service records I notice that the car is due for a transmission fluid change. I pulled the dip stick on the transmission and the rubber surround that holds the dipstick in has shrunk to the point that it doesn't seal. That's no good...
Dipstick ATF - $11.96
Moral of the story - Don't change your oil, it's too expensive. :cry:
