That's what a guy at work told me, he said that he wouldn't even consider taking me on, because my car is a "run of the mill grocery getter" and that there was nothing special about a Del Sol. I pointed out that my VTEC is nothing to sneeze at, and that it could develop fairly serious power, and that my 2300lb car and its 160HP has a pretty respectable power to weight ratio... But he kept on laughing!
Yes, because all this time, while I was praising my VTEC's and its awesome qualities, he was laughing!
Guys, help me out! Has any of you ever raced one these "boxes", because this what I think of these cars, the car has no style, its a turbocharged BOX, I wouldn't drive one if you paid me!
Want to point out that the car in question is a 2002, 3165lb and 227hp

Still here... sorta...
I raced one. I owned his ass. He was laughing at me... until we launched and put about a 5 car gap between us, spinning into 4th. Of course, I was making 457 whp (~550chp)... :reechy:

Doesn't the Del Sol weigh 2600lbs?
But like everyone said you would be raped if you were stock and his is stock. Look at the 1/4 mile numbers. Duh. At the autocross it might be a different story.

he will rape you from a dig, he will rape you off road and will rape you on a road course or auto X and will rape you from a kick if you are stock. He has a 2 liter motor btw not a 2.2 but he is making ALOT more torque than you, thats where he has you... I run from sti's but I am about as built as they come. I dont catch my buddy until a little after the 1/4 mile, they run 13.2's or so...
