Default b16 head

hey guy well im doing an ls vtec to my civic, my civic had a b16 and it was turbo and it started to smoke so at first i thought it was the turbo seals gone bad but when i took the manifold off there was oil by the header gaskets and today i just pulled of the head and there were oil on the top of the pistons, and the head had some oil on the int. side and the exhaust side valves were white.
Any idea on what wrong. is it bad rings on the block ?

u should do a compression test first. is there oil on ever cylinder, or a few. its either bad rings, oil is leaking down from valves that are fubared

Did you have the head resurfaced before you put it on?
