Default brake lights

my brake lights are always on, dont know whats doing it, all my other lights are working fine, turn signals, headlights, reverse lights, i hit my brakes and i get nothing, no change, im in a real need of getting my brakes blead, i have to push them all the way to the floor before i get anything, i havent been driving my car so thats why i havent did that yet, could that be the reason? im lost as to what could be doing it, and by the way i checked all the fuses and the bulbs.
the car is a 1993 honda civic ex, i have to unhook the battery so it doesnt drain it

Im 99% sure you have a short somehwere in your wires. Buy a light tester and start testing for hot wires. Its going to be a pain in the ass tracing the short once you find out which wire it is though.

found the problem, my brake pedal arm wasnt coming back far enough to the pin to turn the brake lights off, so i taped a quarter to the arm and the problem is fixed, till i get something else to put back there, thanks for the help.
