Amen to that brother! Do some homework and price comparisons see what the base k will cost ya. My guess would be that for a grand or so more, you can do the k20a2 swap. You will still have to do shift linkage modifications either way and buy the same mounts. If you want to do the swap, do it right the first time!!!

and there is a big difference in price between the k20a3 and the k20a2....i can get a a3 for about 2300 and the a2 is like 5500, there is only an 800 diffence between the a3 an a2 thats why i was thinkin of gettin a k20 over a h22

Whats your budget? The conversion for the k series isnt cheap, so you should be adding alot more then the motor swap to final costs

i've added all the mess up, the h22 is about 3100 and the k20 is about 4000. thats including mounts, axles, the harness adapters, and the engine. but before all that i am getting a full coilover setup and brake upgrade (i didnt add those 2 in). the mounts/axles/harness i am ordering from hasport, and engine from osakajdmmotors.com and its a complete motor

no offense, but this is a retarded thread. dollar per HP, or dollar per lb-ft or dollar per grin-factor, the H22 toasts the k20 in every facet.... better torque production, similar power output and about three grand less invested. Don't waste your money on popularity, son.

you need to do more research. there are way more differences between the two and you cant just take a a2 head and put it on to a a3 and try to make it the same engine there are a lot of differences like the a3 isnt build to handle a lot of power its for reliablity and great gas mileage. also the a2 has a built in oil cooler so youd have that bennefit goign with that. and i do belive that the k20a2 has already made bigger numbers than any h22 from what ive read and it boost easly. but it will be a harder swap from what ive read because it spins differently so itll take a little more fabrication but if you look on hasport.com or whatever they have everything needed for the swap and unless you have a welder or know a good exhaust guy you should get there header for the swap. thats abou tall i got hope this helps

If you're trying to decide between the H22 (200HP/156ft-lbs) and K20A3 (160hp/132ft-lbs), the obvious choice (at least to me) is the H22. More power (+40hp/24ft-lbs) and less money. Besides for little more on the H22 ($300 at HMO comes to mind) you can get a factory LSD with the H22. K also has a five speed, but no factory LSD option, so there's money saved.

Now if you can afford a K20A2 (200hp/142ft-lbs) w/ a 6spd, that could be fun, but it's a lot more than a H22 is. Or the really awesome K20A (220hp/155ft-lbs), comes with a 6spd w/ a LSD. Of course it's around $5500.

My guess would be that for a grand or so more, you can do the k20a2 swap.
A grand more than a H22? I wish!! The K20A2 is about $1800-2000 more for the engine. They both need custom mounts, axles, and wiring.
