I have a huge question for you body guys?
Ok, I know someone had an issue with all honda rear quarter panel cancer. Well I am another fallen victim of the spearding cancer. Anyway i've cut out the bad areas now I don't know what to do next? I have two sheets of galvenized aluminum two cover up the now missing metal. I had a body man tell me to pop rivet it and another telling me to get this adhesive from a company name Lord adhesive. Now this where I got lost if I pop rivet it how would I cover the tips of the rivet it and about the industrial adhesive holding up sheet metal? Also would that Jb cold weild work for this project?
If at all possible, I would try to get the new 1/4's welded in there. When I replaced mine about a year ago, I cut out the old metal and replaced with new metal and tack riveted it up in there, grinded down the rivets, bondo'd it all up, then did the primer sealer. Its starting to show through somewhat again now. But that could be because its still primer, and or because I didnt clean the inside of the wheel wells very well, and re-spray them with the proper exterior coating.

I didnt get new 1/4's, I just used some good sheet metal. I tack riveted from the outiside of the wheel well with a tack gun. Grinded down the tacks (so they would stick out so far, bondo, sand, prime, hope it doesnt rust from the inside to out. I would recommend you try to do some type of restoration to the inner wheel well while your at it. It will be worth it.
Your last question: "Also did you bondo over the sanded of rivet."
has me a little confused. Hope I've helped.

Ok, Im going to try to explain this in detail.
My quarters were rusted pretty bad. On driver side-rusted mostly externally, on the passenger side you could actually see through the cancered wheel well. So...
1. I grinded out as much of the rust from the wheel wells as possible(with a metal grinder).
2. Replaced the area with pre-bent sheet metal (to reform the wheel wells).
3. Drilled holes through remaining 1/4 panel, through the sheet metal. (with a small size drill bit)
4. Loaded the rivet gun with the rivet, put the rivet through the drilled hole, and popped the rivet in (by squeezing the handle), this now securely attached the sheet metal to the 1/4 panel.
5. Grinded down the tacks to make surface smooth for bondo.
6. Sanded, then bondo, the sanded lightly, then primer sealer.
I used the Zinc rich primer, a buddy of mine told be that that was the best for the particular "temporary" restore.
The hard part really wasnt the acutal replacing the 1/4, the hardest part was fabricating the sheet metal to reform the wheel well area I had grinded away.
[*Attached are pictures I googled of almost exactly what I used for the job. The 1st picture is the tack gun, the 2nd the rivets themselves.*]
Now remember this is backyard body work, and by all means is nothing but a temporary fix. Depending of the preciseness and neatness, will determine how long it will last. Primer, and paint+clearcoat probably would be the best steps to take after all the work is done.
Pictures of your 1/4's might help me help you. If you need pics of how mine are now, I think I could hanlde that also.
Hope this helps more.
