shift linkage

how do i get the shift linkage off my single cam tranny????? obviously not the bolt on piece...i mean the weird pinthat has the hole through the middle of it???? thanx

I've had luck with a center punch taped to an extension bar and hit it from the top.

yeah but...the trannyl in the car and hooked up...is there any way to do it while its in the car already?
