Default Welding Options

Ok, for the auto to manual conversion part of my JDM B18C GSR swap into my 99 ex, i need to clear some things up with the welding. I need to take sheet metal, cut it, and weld it so i can mount the shifter correct? Because the auto one will not work? So do i need to use a tig or a mig welder, or will an arc welder work just fine? Im not really sure. Secondly, do i need to buy a manual shift linkage mount so that lines up correctly with the shifter? or at least weld one on there? Doesnt hasport make an auto to manual conversion shift linkage mount? If anyone could give me a site for one if hasport is not my best bet, thanks. Thanks in advance.
