Im wondering what harness and ecu i should use for my JDM B18C GSR swap and auto to manual conversion in my 99 ex. I need to know which one will be the easiest when it comes to wiring, and the one where i will have to add the least amount of wires or none at all, and if just using that harness and ecu it will run perfectly and be pretty much plug and play. Im debating on running a 99-00 si harness and ecu, or a 99-01 teg harness and ecu. Will both work and run perfectly? Could i use either an obd2 a or b (96-00) harness, with the obd2b ecu, or does it need to be obd2b to match up with the ecu? Is the pt2 the 99-00 si obd2b ecu?, just wondering because i know where i can get one, if that would work. And if anyone happens to have either of those 4 items laying around, let me know. If you got a 99 and if you want to run a obd2a you need to get a jumper harness. I would say get a obd2b to obd1 jumper harness with a P28, or a P30

 

Ok for engine harness you can use 99-01 gsr, 99-00 civic si. You can use a integra non-vtec harnness but it will have to be modified. For an ecu: It all depends on what you plan on doing. Street legal? Pass smog? Track vehicle? If you need it to pass smog then use a obd2b ecu from a 99-01 teg or 99-00 civic si. If it doesnt need to pass smog/emissions/inspections then you can use p28(will need to be reburned for dohc), p30, p61, p72. If you do decide to go wityh an obd1 ecu then a obd2b to obd1 jumper harnees will be needed. YEs the p2t ecu is from the 99-00 civic si. Yes it will work.

 

Is the p2t obd2b? like could i just mate it up with a obd2b engine harness and have it work fine and no reflashing or nothing, just plug and play? I guess im just not seeing how the ecu from a civic si will work fine with a B18C, i mean the ecu is made for a totally different engine? But then again ecus have a lot of the same codes and programs right from engine to engine? So ill probably either run a manual civic si 99-00 engine harness and ecu or a manual gsr 99-01 engine harness and ecu, best bet for now i guess. Thanks for the help.

 

Ok, this isnt hard. The ecu has nothing to do with the engine harness. It doesnt directly connect to the engine harness. yes the p2t is obd2b. You dont need to get a ecu and harness from same model of car either. You can get a 99-00 si ecu and a gsr harness, or the other way around.

 

Ok, thanks for clearing that up, so what do you want for your p2t then? I might be interested if i cant find another ecu or harness, so there isnt anything else that i need besides the ecu and harness for the wiring thing? Because im going to be using the UDSM manual version of it all, so thats all im going to need for the JDM engine per wiring?
