Default I need help fast :(

Ok I just purchased an ecu for my honda civic lx 1.5 automatic tranny. It had an Po6 computer in it orignaly, the one I purchased was the same model Po6 I foreget the rest of the numbers. Anyway I went to plug it in my car started right up no prob Yeah..... The problem started when I went to put in in reverse and the tranny was locked. For some reason I had a spare key with me so I put that in the shift lock area tried again and was able to shift gears perfectly. Does anyone know why this had happened? Also my brother told me to disconnect the car battery and then reconnect and see if it stays the same would this help?

coincidental...nothing more. your ecu is electrical....your tranny is mechanical...they arent really linked in that way.

How do you think an automatic shifts? It doesn't just do it...there has to be something to control it....whether it be an ECU or a transmission control module.

Your ECU is probably for a 5 speed. Check it: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...light=P28+Auto
