Default What's wrong?

What happening is that I am getting pretty bad gas milage. I only usually get about 165-180 miles per tank (12 gallons). That's only 15 MPG!! My mom's Jeep Wrangler gets better than that.

Driving problems:
1. Acceleration seems pretty sluggish (it's an auto, but acceleration is still pretty slow).

2. No check engine light. I tried to see if it would blink codes anyway, but, all it did was leave the CEL ON and blink the SRS.

3. Smell of exaust is pretty strong after some driving.

4. Throttle response is sluggish from time to time. I could floor it and it will slowly rev and change gears (down) with not a lot of acceleration.

I'm not trying to tell you that my acceleration should be blistering, but, it's unnacceptable.

I am thinking it's the oxygen sensor. Any other ideas? Again, I don't get a CEL.

I use 87 octane gas.

Well if no codes are comming up then it wouldnt be the o2 sensor. I would suggest changing stuff that isnt a sensor or that has one. Clean injectors, new fuel filter, cap + rotor, plugs, wires if needed. See if that does the trick.
