Anything over half is dangerous. As for GSR's I know that in Civics with the stock 1/2 size radiator they usually are at 1/3 temp. I'm not sure about the long radiators though.
so what does the red zone start at on the temp. guage... like gasket failure temp.???
It means pull the fuck over, you don't have any coolant. You risk melting something, warping something, blowing something, etc. Unless all your coolant leaks out or your water pump fails, it should never get up to the red area.
