Default Compressor question

Last summer the cycling switch on my compressor blew, and I finally got it fixed today. So essentially I havnet used my compressor in a year, and today when it started running again, it got stuck a few times. But it ran and did its job. However, I noticed that its bogging down the engine more, particulary at idle. I sense this is going to affect my car's performanace.

Would changing the compressor oil 1) be really worth it and 2)be really hard to do? have any of you done it? please post info if ya have.

When I installed my A/C from a wrecked car, it would bog down bad. I thought I just overcharged it with the 134 conversion kit. I let off some pressure and it fixed the bogging problem, but never really cooled too well. Now two or three years later, I hooked up the gauge that came with the conversion kit and added some freon, works great and doesn't bog.

It would be easy to change the oil, but you would have to have it evacuated at a shop first. Then either have them refill it, or DIY.
