im gonna put a h22 in my sol, anyone have any usefull information regarding the swap? Here are a few things i would like answered, is there any i can get off another car so i dont have to buy a set for $400?
Wiring harness, can the orginal one be used without buying an adapter, and is there any wiring besides the ones to the main harness that im gonna need to worry about?
The shifter cables, any suggestion to changing from rod type to cables?
Anyone ever done a swap without a lift? if so any ideas how to lift the car up to drop the engine out.

the only part i could understand was the taking out the engine part...

you dont need a lift... just an engine jack/cherrypicker

and handling is fine...the weight difference is actually quite minimal

I assume you mean motor mounts, and no you can't. If you're going to put that big of a motor into the car, do it right, get the good mounts. HCP or HASport are the two I see recommended the most, I'm going with HASport in my EG.

Wiring harness, can the orginal one be used without buying an adapter, and is there any wiring besides the ones to the main harness that im gonna need to worry about?
If you get the same emissions style engine as your car (i.e. OBDI engine into an OBDI car) you only need the wiring harness on the engine and the car, no adapters. The rest you can do yourself. You have to make all the normal connections, and if your car doesn't have it, you need to wire in the VTEC solenoid and knock sensor. As well as the IAB, EGR, and possibly (depending on the year of the motor) a resistor box for the injectors.

The shifter cables, any suggestion to changing from rod type to cables?
Basically, you remove the rods and your current shifter. Cut a small hole in the lower firewall or floorpan under the center console, and run the cables in. Then use an Accord or Prelude shifter assembly and mount it where your shifter used to be, and connect the cables.

I'll give you a 5, Good idea, but not much follow through. If you want all motor and/or loads of turbo power, H22 is a great idea. If you want an easier route, go B-series. It's going to take more work than a B-series (mainly in the mounting and shifting department, wiring is the same as a B18C), although not a lot more. Do it right, get good mounts and quality axles.

Read this: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/650329
That will explain in detail how to do everything.
