Default sunroof/power windows

I have a 95 civic ex coupe. For some reason my windows roll down pretty fine, but when I try to close them, they seem to close very slowly. The sunroof needs a little push upwards when opening it, then slides back without manual force, but again, slowly. The windows roll up the same regardless of whether I push the driver or passenger side buttons. Are the two problems connected? Do they share the same motor?

I dunno, i have manual windows, but a power sunroof so they may be independant.

But on that note, my sunroof makes a thud-d-d-d-d when its being fully opened, and i dunno what that's about..

I dunno if anyone on here is up to par on window motor tech tho so good luck!

Yeah, now that rico mentions it, when i was putting in my speakers i knocked a window off track (never do this its a bitch ) and had to refit the window back onto the lever thingy. I knew it was really off when it was harder than shit to roll up.

yeah, my sunroof also goes "thud-d-d-d", I guess mine is misalligned as well. But are the windows supposed to roll up slow??? Because they slide up pretty smoothly, so i don't think they are unalligned.

I'll bet money they're misaligned :hs: Even if it goes up, the way you're describing it, I'm sure it's misaligned h:

I did a power window swap on my 92 si. You're gonna have to take the door panel off, and unscrew the pwr window button. Leave the switch connected, and just watch the window go up and down on the track. You'll see where it's not aligned. The only wrench you'll need is a 10mm. Wouldn't hurt to get some lithium grease and lube that baby down once you're in there, too.

I haven't messed with my sunroof, except for lubing up the track on the inside with the same grease. That skipping thud sound stopped happening.

someone tried to break into my car through the window and pushed it off the track a while ago it was interesting to put back on. It was quite a pain in the ass actually, thank god I have small hands. It took about an hour and a half..
