Default first post--trouble starting

Lately, I've been having trouble starting my 1995 Civic dx. I had the alternator and the battery tested, so I know it's not that. I also had the spark plugs replaced, and that seemed to help, but I'm still having some problems. Someone suggested it might be the distributor, or the plug wires, but i'm wondering if any of you have experienced similar problems/have other ideas. I'm not super experienced in the maintenance department (not at all, actually) but I'm trying to avoid taking the car in if it's something super easy like the spark plugs. Oh--and the car's got 150k+ miles on it. Thanks.

sounds like distributor is a good guess .?need more info ,whats it doin?Is it firing or not?I'd start by pullin a plug wire and checkin for spark,If u got spark then make sure u got fuel .....These are just a couple of steps that may help to solve your problem

The car (so far) has always started eventually. And it's very strange; when the car is warm, it always starts without any problems. It's only after the car has been sitting (like overnight or during the 8 hours that i'm at work) that it acts up. Stepping on the gas while trying to get it to start doesn't seem to have any effect.

When you turn the key from off to on, you should be able to hear the fuel pump prime for 1 sec. Can you hear that?

replace the cap and rotor. condensation could be getting into ur distributor cap causing it to function improperly. and do a basic tune up, plugs again (ngk only) plug wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter and dump a can of seafoam in your gas tank. just tune the car up. 90% of the time it is something simple, or something that takes lil effort to fix.

mine was having problems starting too, it just didnt want to fire. I changed out the fuel pump and now it starts good, but during idle the RPMS are real low...Still working on that issue. But anyways, check the plugs, the fuel filter, and try to find out if your getting adequate fuel pressure.
