New Civic 92 Help
I just a Civic 92, with 112,000 miles, its in pretty good condition. I have some money to spend. What can I do that will help performance that won't hurt my pocket too much. Also any asthetic suggestions?
you can do intake or exhaust. they are probably the first mods that should be done and is pretty cheap compare to other power mods. but imo the gains is barely noticeable especially when you pay $200 for a aem intake or 500 for a decent exhaust.
i suggest you do your suspension first.

Get a set of Eibach or Neuspeed sport springs that lower no more than 1.5 inches. They are progressive rate springs that perform similar to the stock springs drving straight, but stiffen up during cornering. They usually go for $150-$200 a set.
since the car is nearing 12 years old, Id spend that money on a timing belt, water pump and idler pulley, and any other 12 year old failing part before any of the above. You might want to check out the bearing inside the distributor to see if its suffering from "Red Death"

Definetly maintainance items first.
I live in Buffalo with crappy roads and drive all year (courier). I've tried KYB with H&R's but found the car to be just a tad too low. I rode OK, cornered nice, but wore out my tires inside edge too fast (no correction kit). Now I have Bilstein HD's and stock springs. Ride is pretty good, still corners great, so in my opinion sway bars aren't really needed for daily driving.
I've also gone with 15" wheels and 195/65 all season tires-still corners fine and goes through the snow etc also.
Maintainance, suspension, wheels & tires, tunes, body mods (if wanted), exhaust.
