Default Need Help!!! Honda Civic 4Dr '92

Took it for a ride in the mornig but left my fog lights on after and my battery died. I got some boost cables and my friend was going to give me a boost. We connected the cables, turned his car on and when I tried to turn on mine all I could here was clicking. No crank. What could be the problem???

Thats weird. It should have worked.
Go to autozone if you get it working
You might need a new battery.

sounds like battery.....you cant normally just hook it up and drive away. let it charge up awhile with the cables on the other running car. let the other car idle up higher to speed things up. it might take up to 20 minutes

probably didn't let it charge long enough. The clicking is just the starter motor trying to turn but not having enough power to turn the motor over

It's clicking "click-click-click-click...etc."

well thanks for the advise, I got a battery charger from my neighbour today so I'll hook it up and let it charge for a couple of hours and try again later...

I dunno if you tried this, but have you friend put a little RPM on his engine so that he's putting out more power from his alternator

+1

However, once you get it going, Autozone will test it and verify whether or not the battery / alternator are still good.

For free.
