Default It has begun...

Okay guys...

In a few months I am going get the great satisfaction of purchasing my first car and I have always had a thing for Hondas. We all know this feeling.

Everything seems well, but...

WHICH CAR DO I BUY!?

I know nothing really, I just know that I have my eye on two cars. The Del Sol and the Civic Hatchback 89' - 91' preferably.

Why?
-Good on gas
-Cheap
-Easy to find
-Relativley low insurance.

I really like the targa tops on the Del Sol's and like how it is small. To me it seems like a fun car. The Hatchback on the other hand is relativley small, but it has SOME room for passengers and the what not. Which car has most potential?

it is your buy....so i would look into (aka searching) about these two cars. i personally like the looks of the del sol more but then some say it is a girls car. 89-91 civics look to boxy for me. this is all looks wise though.

what are you planning on doing with the car? racing? if racing...what kind?looks? sound? reliable? resale? also which models of both of these cars?

I want to get into modding the car, spending hours tweaking certain things making it just right. Making faster, and nicer.

I want the car to have balls, sound nice (None of that lawnmower crap), look good (But not flamboyantly lame). Im not looking to race on tracks or anything, but Id like to open it up a a few times here and there

Some people will argue with me about which is the better platform, but the 92-95 civic hatchbacks and the Del Sol are built on the same chassis. Drivetrain and suspension parts are interchangeable between '92-'00 models, so there are tons of parts available for them as a result. The Del Sol would be a better choice given those options. Your options will be very limited for many parts on anything that's 15 years old, or older, so I'd steer away from the hatchback idea unless you went with something newer.

If you want boxy, get a dodge colt.

Or a Scion. I like my friends '95 Toyota Celica and another friend has a Ford ZX2 <-- pretty fast.

Don't hate me for this but... I really like Mustangs. I'd trade my Honda anyday for a mustang.

I like the 93's too...

I like boxy, and I like semi-boxy and small. I hate round... Round is bad. Like the new civics...

haha the del sol will HURT on insurance trust me, so keep that in mind. Other then that, between those two cars id definently take the Del sol, its a fun car though not having the extra seats can be a burden at times
