Here's A Few:
S2000 would be my first but..
Toyota MR2 (im pretty sure it's rear)
Nissan 300zx (if it's decent)
or the old corolla/trueno (it'd be appreciated more once done)
or the silvia (but that kinda kills the uniqueness of your ride nowadays)
I'd even reccommend a conversion but that takes alot of time and money..

i second the mr2 (how could i have forgotten that!)
300zx (90 +) is one of the sexiest sportscars of all time but they're HEAVY. a 240 is a great way to go, but you can make it your life's work to find a decent one.
what about an old 3 series? anywhere from 84+? if you can find a 91 m3, you will be forever in love

Totally off-topic basement material, however:
1) 93-95 Mazda RX-7 FD chassis.
2) 92.5+ Toyota Supra Mk.IV chassis.
3) 2G Toyota MR2.
4) S14 Nissan 240SX (just a touch over 5th place)
5) 86-91 Mazda RX-7 (FC) -S13 Nissan 240SX -Tie
AE86's are trash below that. All 300ZX's are porky, as are 3000GT/Stealths. 200SX (RWD) have great potential, but are just plain old. Mk.III Supras are too fat to be a true competitor. I can go on, but don't feel like it.
I'm NOT including Euro cars, because I know nothing about them and don't care about them.

I agree with the RX-7 and the Supra being the top 2. As far as the MR2 goes, I'm not sure if I would use it as a drift car, as mid-engine cars tent to want to spin rather than slide. The handling is too neutral. That's why pretty much any purpose-built race car worth its salt is mid-engine. Drifting an MR2 can definitely be done, but it could be done easier with the RX-7 or Supra.

if i saw a miata drifting, id either kick the car or myself. the s13 is a great car for drifting, the s14's are heavier with their hatch. the 300z is very very very heavy and those motors are a pain in the ass. the FC is awesome but a box of worms, you better know your rotary very well for those, same with the FDs
