Default mini-me info...

well im about to do a minime swap into my ek.. i have a d16y8 head,IM, and a p2p.. i was wonderin if i it is necessary to run a knock sensor.. i know it will throw codes but i wanna know if the car wil run fine and if the vtec wil work.. also will my dizzy on my d16y7 work on the y8 head?? n e one plz help.. thanks..

u need a vtec dizzy, so no...

as for the knock sensor you might as well put one rather than risk not knowing if your knocking... u can go without it but its a rather easy install so why half as this job

will the distributor atleastfit and will i be able to run it until i a able to save up enough for a vtec distributor??

your distributor WILL fit and work. obd2 dizzy's are the same. my y7/y8 mini-me is running the y7 dizzy.

you NEED to run the knock sensor. if you do not, the y8 ecu will put the car into limp mode. i forget exactly what happens but basically the car runs like crap.

nope, as far as i know theres no way around it. the car will run but start looking for a knock sensor

i've read some where that my 96 civic dx already comes prewired for a knock sensor.. can n e one verify this..

will a knock sensor from a 2000 civic ex(d16y8) work for me.. im planning on running a p2p obd2a computer but i can get a knock sensor from a 2000 civic ex.. does n e one know if it will work since its off a obd2b car..

no the car is not wired for the knock sensor. you have to physically run the wire. its only 1 wire, its not hard.

yes a knock sensor from an 00 y8 will work
