Default Exaust and engine proformance.

I bought a 1995 Honda Civic EX, that came with a standard fart can and some nice chrome rims. I took the Stainless steal fart can off and bought a new stock exaust from NAPA.

Ever since I put the new exaust on I've noticed:

Poor engine profomance and throttle responce

Poorer (still not too bad) fuel economy (as i have to step on the peddle harder to recive the same proformance.

and weird sound of the exaust

I put the fart can back on even though I don't really like that noise, and everything got cleared up. I am rather new to this scene so be kind.

i was thinking, if I weld a new bigger tail pipe at the aft end of the muffler, will that sound/look/proform better?

One friend said that just an exaust tip will help.

Any suggestions?

welll.... the point of the fart can is the "incease performance" so what your felt when you put the a generic muffler back on would be the oringal car performance..... but i can imagine a fart can giving that much of an increase in performance....
you can always get a different performance muffler, or exhaust piping

i said performance like 43 times.... i need to go to bed

find your self a straight through magnaflow muffler and you will keep the performance difference that you feel as well as get rid of the weed wacker sound!
