B18c Swap
Im going for a B18C swap in my 1999 EX auto, and in the process will be converting to a manual. From what i hear all i need is the rear mounts ffrom a 99-00 si, and it should be an easy drop in. Ive got three sites listed below of three B18C upon which i am deciding what to buy. Two of the three include a list of what is included with the complete swap, and im wondering if there is a difference between the first engine and the second two. What i am also wondering is that putting in a B18C with a 5spd manual into a car that was an auto, what exactly piece by piece am i going to need besides what is listed on the 1st and 3rd links. I need it total noob style so i can get every part i need and not have the engine in and be missing something valuable.

Hey, does anyone know where i can get a COMPLETE B18C SiR-G JDM front clip? Especially one with an LSD under 3500? The cheapest one i found was around 3600, so any help would be great. Thanks.
Haha, yeah i can, its just if i can save any money it would be great, because i can stick that money somewhere else. Ill check that site out, i mean the ballpark price is around 3500 bucks, but i was just checking to see if anyone had found any cheaper ones, that are COMPLETE, because i would like to save a few dollars. Hey man, I'm in the same dillema here. My engine was stolen with everything so I'm not sure what and where to buy, whether a clip or a complete changeover and what type of engine to buy b16 or b18. Not sure if I will keep it after I rebuild it. I I were to keep it then I'll go with b16b or b18c, but since I'm sure it will be stolen again I just want to rebuild it and spend the smallest amount of money. So that I can sell it and get most of my money back and that way having less losses. Anyway, keep us or at least me updated, I'd like to know what, where and how. Thanks.

Thanks man, yeah actually i looked at JR, i found the LSD one at 3599, which im kind of looking for the LSD. Yeah im looking for the OBD2 too, so that works also, the only thing is the limited-slip differential, im just trying to get the most out of the little money i have, but yeah thanks for looking, let me know if you find anything else, if checked fricken everywhere online. Some people are telling me not to go the clip route, but i need the pedals, the housing, the shifter, although ill probably end up buying a b&m short shifter, and it comes with the axles, at least i hope so? maybe im wrong, but thats what i thought a complete clip came with, and if it does then thats the way to go i think over the complete engine swap. I dont know, looking to be pointed in the right direction, let me know what you find and what you plan on doing Seruy. Sorry to hear about the loss, seems everyone likes to steal nowadays.
Yeah, clip looks like a smart choice for me too. It will have everything that I need and am missing so why not, and it would be tons easier to do since just plug and play. What would be more reasonable b16b clip for 3000 grand shipped or b18c for 3200 shipped (or somewhere around that value)? I mean what is a better choice for me - '00 Si. B16b has 5 more horsies but less the displacement. Which engine would actually increase the car's selling value more?
Well, i never really thought about that, im on a computer at school, but i have a lot of the shit saved on my computer at home, so ill let you know later. Thats what im hoping with the whole OBD2 thing, just a plug and play and no shipping in and re-flashing or nothing, i should be able to use the teg's ECU right? Well with your '00 si youve got the rear mounts that ive heard are needed for the B18C swap, so thats what i would go with, but its up to you. Im just more leaning towards the B18C anyway, and they both should increase the car's selling value about the same, since they are somewhat close in power output, and i think all the front clips have like less than 55000 miles on the tranny, as least they say they do, you could check i guess if you get the OD with the clip, some include them some dont, and i dont think the ones off of JR do. Ill have to tell you more when i get home, because im new to this, so keep me updated as will i.
