Default Shaking Problems

After getting new rims my car would shake when i was going 60 mph and higher. it seemed to go away after a while, or i just got used to it. but then i installed two upper strut bars, and now it shakes more than before. im not sure what the problem is but if someone knows please tell me, thanks.

Probably the rims (tires, wheel hub fit, balance).
You could swap out for other wheels (old ones) to see if that's the problem.

Things to check:
Balance
Hub fit-are the new wheels hubcentric?
Crap between the wheel and brake rotor
Loose suspension parts (wheel bearing, tie rods, ball joints)
Brake rotors warped (especially if they thump when brakes applied)

if you got bigger wheels it might have screwed up your caster/ camber and the whole suspension geometry
take it to an alignment shop and that should solve the problem

I don't think caster would be affect by changing wheels. Atleast I never had it affect me :thinking:However camber could be an issue.

check your lugnuts...the shit is probaly loose because you didnt torque your new rims on....naw..just kidding...it balancing issue and nothing more

AS I STATED IN 1,000 POSTS....ALIGNMENTS WILL NOT CAUSE SHAKING. TELL ME HOW IT DOES??? IF A CAR SHAKES...AN ALIGNMENT ...AND ONLY AN ALIGNMENT...WILL NOT RESOLVE THAT ISSUE.

I had the same problem, only my car would do it with both my stock wheels, AND my rims. I took it to a tire shop and they did an allignment, balanced and rotated the wheels. that seemed to solve the problem.

balancing solved the problem there...not alignment. if you put new wheels on...and you have vibration at 60 ish mph....it is a balncing porblem. more then likely you got wheels without an outer lip. this means that for balancing the shop has to "static" balance the wheels. this means wheel weights on the inside of th rim as opposed to inside and outside lips. think of a balncing guy on top of a wire. he has that long pole that distrubutes the weight as far out as possible to make it easier for him to have equal qeight on both isdes. if he had just one pole on the right side of him and no pole to his left....he will fall.
