Default What kind of Security System do you guys have?

Alright. I have been thinking of getting a Viper 791XV Security System on my hatch. I've been reading, and I have found that there are other systems that offer the same thing and with half the price. Also that going with a Viper, you are just paying for the name. Anyways, what kind of security are you guys running on your cars (manual transmission drivers only). Especially, since I found out that not anyone would do a Viper installation on my car since it is manual. Don't worry about my budget because I am not going cheap on my car. I just want whatever is top notch.

doesnt really matter the brand, its the quality of the installation, if a car theif can find the alarm quickly and disable it in seconds, then you need to invest in a better installer or do it yourself. also having layers of security will help, in addition to the alarm have a fuel pump cut off. the longer it takes them to try to disable everything the more likely they'll move on to something easier

For you guys that have the Viper 791XV. Did you guys remove the remote start? Since the car is manual. Or do you guys just have it on and know yourselves well enough to never turn the car on in gear. So you guys recommend I should get the Viper 791XV then? And of course other stuff as well.

I did the installation myself becuz its true an alarm is useless if the installation is a hack job. I also install the remote start as well becuz since day 1, I don't ever put my car in gear. if I'm on hill the cars in gear and the remote start is disable via switch. having the car warm up on a cold winter mornin is a great thing to have.

when i worked at the stereo shop we ran the wires and everything really cheaply so if anyone knew what they were doing could pull one plug and disarm it in about 2 seconds. the viper system is expensive, but is definately worth it if installed right. as for cheaper kits: i wouldnt look into something that wasnt name brand cause i had one off ebay once ant it never worked even when my windows got nocked out
