No i didn't spray off the line, i'd launch...hookup and then arm the switch at WOT. Keep in mind this is with a really bad launch and a slipping clutch. Also .20 in the 1/8 would be like .31 in the quarter mile. I guarantee you an ex with a 55 shot would wipe the floor with you. I pulled really hard on rolling races which took away the abusive 1st to 2nd gear shift on the slipping clutch and i pulled topend pretty good. Took out a SVT focus, Spec V, 00 stock ITR, and a stock WRX. You should try a 55 shot, the power difference is very noticable....my time doesn't reflect the kind of extra power i put down with a 55 shot. Here's a good indicator...i trapped around 71.8 mph in the 1/8 with a 55 shot. I'm pretty sure you didn't get close to that.

You should also work on your launches...2.42 isn't that great, you could get your time down considerably if you got a better launch. On my rotas/kumhos/slipping stock clutch i've hit 2.23 with mostly 2.25-2.28's

1/8 speed 70.44 not a huge difference.

i lauched way to high on both runs...2.42 was my best other was a 2.5 i have way to much wheel spin off the line, i wasnt used to the way its paved there. i have alot of camber in the front also, so my tires dont have the max grip they should. next time i get up there im hoping for a 15.6, and thats with a new clutch, if i ever get it in, and an intake next time.

1.5 mph in the 1/8 is quite a bit...remember it's not the quarter mile. Try lowering your tire psi to around 21-23 psi, if i run any higher than 25 all i do is hop/spin. You should cut a lot cleaner 60 foots with a lower tire pressure. Also maybe you should launch lower if you are spinning. I usually launch around 4200 on the street with my turbo setup but at the track i only go 3800-4000.

yeah but...that 55 shot only gave you a
1.5 mph lead on me...after that your done spraying and if i keep on the path its pretty much even.....

i had the tire psi down to about 30...next time i will go lower, my luach was about 3500 or so...i was to skittish to look..i was worried about the lights.

Maybe you don't understand how much a 1.5mph lead in the 1/8 mile is but it's a lot. Also times/speeds vary from track to track. I think 30 is still too high. I'd say start at 25 on your first pass and work from there...also remember as you make passes your tires heat up so if you started at 30 on your first pass by your 3rd or 4th your tire pressure is at least at 35 psi causing more spinning/wheel hop. In any case, my best run in the 1/8 is no longer a 9.96 @ 71.8 it's a 9.61 @ 73.98 with a 2.23 60' so :fawk:

does this tire psi matter on what tires your running on?

I'm sure that it can have SOME effect, cause some tires are grippier than others so maybe you can pull off having a higher tire pressure if your are running a drag radial or something like that. But a general rule is that a lower psi will give you a larger contact patch which will help you hook up and eliminate wheel hop/spin because you are putting more tire to the ground. This is why you see people running slicks at 12 psi...like i said, for most street tires i'd try around 25 psi and adjust from there. Check your tire pressure every 2-3 runs and you'll see that as your tires heat up your pressure will rise. If you have to...bleed off some more air after a few runs to keep it at a constant psi.

okie..back to the matter at hand!!

17.7 is considerably slower than you should get. with my 16's, kit and stock D15 motor (EK hatch also) i still got a 16.7 on the Gtech. it could be all the ignition/timing stuff you did. sometimes those upgrades can do more harm than good when you're running off of a stock motor that's kinda weak. try placing everything back to stock and have your friend outside the car. one other thing, back seats only weigh about 10 pounds. it's not going to matter much
