Default auto to manual

how hard is it ot convert from auto to manual i was lookin to get a 99 si auto:|110km Amazing price i was thinking of converting it to stick how much whould aprox price be

It's simple as long as you do it yourself. Get a junk one if you can. I did it myself and it cost me around $500 for everything. I even put a stage two clutch and had the flywheel turned and did all the electrical. My clutch switch and back up lights work. The only thing would be a problem is the transmission top mount, you need to buy an aftermarket one because it doesn't line up.

so it doesnt seem that hard but i think i will need a new ECU m i correct

You can use your auto ecu, but it will make the CEL turn on.

Are you Canadian, as in the Canadian Si/US Ex?

The "great price" difference will probably be wiped out after the time and expense of the swap. Buy a manual now and save yourself the headache.

I would have to agree with Kai. If you don't even have the car yet, just get a manual and save yourself the headache. I know from experience.
