This might get moved to engine tech but here it goes.

I have a weird one for you guys my car from time to time will not start, when I turn the key all the way I will sometimes hear the starter click but not turn and sometimes I hear a sound coming from my ecu as if it was a Pentium 1 trying to process(random static type sound). I tried replacing the starter, battery and terminal wires and nada it still persists.

Anyone else have this problem? BTW this is on a 96 Civic Ex Sedan Auto.

I tried everything and nothing. Tried Searching online and found this and it is exactly the same as my car, bad ecu?

Please help.

 

Is it throwing a CEL. When my ECU went bad, the engine check light came on.

Will it crank at all?

 

is there a certain time when it does this? cold starts? hot start? Does it run good when it does start? Check engine lights? Need more info. Could be a number of things.
