Default So I went to Pep Boys!!!!

Could someone help me out here?
I went to Pep Boys to get my engine codes read it turns out ( as they say) that I have a faulty po6 computer it'll cost 793 directly form the dealer to get one. My question is could this faulty computer cause my number 4 fuel injector, o2 sensor, and map sensor to go hay wire? I think they where trying to pull a fast one on me and my wife can someone help me????

Try going to the dealer and get it read.

A P06 should cost you a little less than $100, if that's your problem. You might wanna elaborate on the problem a little more, so the guru's can tell you what might be going on. Also, check the classifieds here. Someone should be able to hook you up.

If the problem IS the ECU, try ebay and buy from someone who sells them often and has good feedback and replacement warranty.

that or check local wrecking yards for a new computer if it turns out to be the issue

No way in hell should it cost almost 800$. More like 100$. Go someplace else to have your codes read or you can learn to do it yourself at the resources sticky at the top op this forum.

so are you guys saying that a faulty computer wont cause those thing to go hay wire? The price foe the computer isn't the issue... I found one for a good price 5o bucks.

A faulty ECU will cause some sensors to function improperly...change the ECU and see what happens...1st of all what year and what model

The reason it didnt work is because you have an OBD 1 car and they can only test from 96 and up OBD 2....If the civic is the same as my lude...bridge the connector that they "tried" to read your codes from and turn the key to the II mark on ignition and watch the flashes...then come back and post what they were
