3" all the way... the small exhaust a/r leading to a 3" pipe gives more velocity and quicker spool up. I'd port match the block to the turbo header, now that would make torque.

I wish I had turbo.

You guys talking about 'this much torque/mid range with this size piping' are all wrong. Think about the dynamics of a turbo and how the piping runs. Your turbo is in the way of any true flow coming right out of the engine so the size of piping will not effect the range of power as a header would or piping size on an N/A application. The only effect that piping size has on a turbo is spooling times. The less restriction that the turbo has to spin the impeller, the faster it will spool and the less lag you will get.

With that size turbo, I don't even see a need for 3" piping, but it will be invaluable if you ugrade the turbo later. I ran 2.5" on my T3/T04E and it did take a bit for the turbo to spool. Had I kept the car I would have gone with a bigger turbo and 3" piping.

You need to look at what you plan to do down the road and plan for that. If there isn't a great deal of price difference between the 2.5 and 3" piping then I'd just go 3" since you're already on that path.
