Default 1st car got ran into Monday Night question re: saving it

My 1st car ever out of college & my daily driver (92 Honda Civic Si w/ 162K) got ran into Monday night.

I'm sad as hell cause it's like a family member...
It was running as good as new until that lady ran into me @ 45 mph.! ...

Damaged rear bumper, pushed in hatch, dented rear qrter panels...no window breakage but driver seat not setting up. Also sunroof wouldn't shut & rear seats unhinged.

Anyhow, they'll probably total it. :wtc:

Is there any chance of saving it?
They said the unibody was "torqued".
Estimate is $4k on a car that's blue booked @ $2K I believed.

Woud like to hear if any1 ever "SAVED" their car from a crushing accident...

Thanks!

Sorry if this is too sappy

if the unibody is tweaked then dont even bother with it. Start thinking about what you'd like to drive next..

There's some things you can't fix.

I was afraid of the frame damage & by the looks of things you all don't think it's salveageable.

Thanks for your replies. I appreciate it!

Yeah, they'll total it and probably give you 2K. Ask them if you can keep it, and they'll propably give you 1800.00. $200 is all they will get for salvage anyway. My dad's done this before, and he made well over the $200 he lost by parting it out.

Yeah, that's the road I'm thinking. Just curious:

Does a Vtec engine w/ 162K...do ppl want such a thing?

I know I the CD Changer is still great.

Sh!t, I can't be thinking this way!

piece out anything valuable...there are a lot of internal effects people on this board could by for you, strip everything the ins co. will let you...then go buy a new car.

do not waste time on a frame damaged car or a salvage title.
