Default EBAY chips

Hi i have an EG with a 98b18b1 and somehow the guy who i bought the car off of got the whole thing to run using a stock p06 93 civic ecu. Now on ebay they are selling co called "spoon sports" ecu chips and such. Has anyone tried these? And if so have you had anyluck? Let me know because for ten dollars it sounds to good to be true.

It is too good to be true...there is no reason to have a chipped ECU unless you have a car with a decent aftermarket setup...you will see minimal gains with a stock car on a chipped ECU...also those chips will need to be installed..so if you do it yourself you could mess up.

So is the p06 a sufficient ecu for use of a b18b1? I thought they would only run civic engines.
