My civic gli needs an engine rebuild and i've been hunting around lately, usually at used imported motors from jap and i found a few nice engines but unsure whether they can be fitted into my engine bay or not, If anyone can help me plz.
Here are the engines that caught my eye B18c1/c5 (c5 from a 97-98 type r and c1 from 94-97 GSR) , H23a4 (97-98 Prelude) and the K20a2 (unsure)

 

GLI is a Euro spec...what year?

 

it's the 1997 model, sedan. I was thinking to get the b18c1 but i have to hunt for it, all the importers say it's rare and expensive and i'm kinda lookin for an engine around the $3000-$4250 ($AUD) range. Also spending in the next 3 years another (probably) $35000 sexing up my car ^^ hopefully it will turn out really nice.

 

isnt the h22A better than the h23a4 engine? not sure jus checkin. y not try k20 engines?

 

I dont know anything about the Euro specs but this is what i found

B18C (JDM) Converted for you into (AUS$) about $4000

H22A (JDM) $3500 (AUS)

K20A (JDM) $2100 (AUS)

This does not include shipping...I dont know how much thats gonna cost you. The K20A does not include a tranny...the B18C comes with the LSD tranny and the H22 as well.
