Default Procharger Superchargers

Okay, so i think im gonna skip the turbo and go with supercharging my 99 si. I've been looking around and I want to go with a procharger supercharger. www.procharger.com They are expensive, but I have the money saved up and ready to spend on it. Does anyone that owns a civic ever used one of these or know anything about it? Just trying to get some advice. Thanks.

agreed, firends don't let friends throw any piece of shit on there car, get a turbo if u want to go FI..

Centrifugal superchargers = lag and parasitic loss. Turbos are way more efficient and upgradable.

boost it. For that amount of money you can build ur bottom end and then boost. then you will really see some numbers

i dont see how a turbo could be more efficient since that is a turbo (charge side) with a little modification to run off a belt rather than exhaust gasses.

idk...just my $.02

You engine is going to see a lot more stress since it is constantly under boost.

Why wouldn't it be more efficient? The turbo runs off wasted exhaust energy whereas the supercharger runs off belts, taking away power and doing nothing with all that wasted exhaust energy potential.

Turbo does create backpressure as with a supercharger it is free flowing, but superchargers start to lose efficiency above 8PSI. I preferably want a turbo, but I think I'll end up with a used JRSC, because used turbo kits for my car are hard to find for less than 1K.

Make your own kit. I made mine with all but 3 brand new parts for 850$
