Default what the crap

i have a 94 civic si
my car revs all on it own untill it warms up. then it goes away. anybody else have or had that problem. if so what was wrong with it

it is how the car warms the engine up faster. its a good thing.

What the fuck? No fucking way! It's your FITV dude. Fast Idle Thermal Valve. It's located underneath the throttlebody and has a coolant hose connected to it. It's held in place by 3 10mm bolts. Remove these bolts. You can leave the coolant line attached so you don't lose much. On the back of the FITV there's a copper looking cap held on by 2 8mmbolts. Remove these bolts and you'll see a plunger threaded inside of the FITV housing. Use your fingernails or a flathead screw driver and thread the plunger in as far as you can untill you feel resistance. Make sure it's all the way in or it can and probably will wriggle it's way back out. Re-assemble the way you took it apart.

This often happens when the coolant level is low. Check the radiator and overflow tank first, then move on to more complicated toubleshooting procedures.

well, the idle is higher when the engine is cold, but only like a couple hudred RPM.

in it rev to 2500 and then drops to 1200 and revs back up again its an annoying prosses and the only thing that i can do to keep my sanity is press on the gas so that it doesn't do it.
